Atomic Heart is a compelling mess of narrative ideas and mechanics that, after a slow and meandering start, settles into an enjoyable but inconsistent rhythm.Īs developer Mundfish’s first game, the ambition on display is impressive – but Atomic Heart’s striking aesthetics and soundtrack can’t obscure the fact it’s a janky mid-tier game at heart, stretched a little too thin.
